On Thursday 15th June, Inverclyde Women’s Aid held an Open Day at their new office – 41 High Street, Greenock – to raise awareness about the services and support we offer for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
The event was attended by over 200 people, including members of the local community, volunteers, and supporters of the organisation. Amongst attendees, we also welcomed the Inverclyde Provost, Drew McKenzie, and local councilors Ronnie Cowan MP and Stuart McMillian MSP who we thank and are grateful to for attending.
Attendees were able to learn more about the various programs and services offered at Inverclyde Women’s Aid, including our 24-hour helpline, counseling services, and safe accommodation for survivors and their children.
“We were thrilled to see so many people come out to support our Open Day and learn more about our organisation,” said Linda Harkin, Director of Inverclyde Women’s Aid. “It was a great opportunity for us to connect with the community and raise awareness about the impact of domestic and sexual abuse on survivors and their families.”
Throughout the day, visitors were able to take a tour of our facilities, meet with staff members and volunteers, and enjoy refreshments. In addition, there were several information booths set up to provide resources and answer questions.
